What is Tapping?

On the most basic level, tapping is a self-help technique that, over the past 25 years since it was developed, has been steadily growing in popularity. This is due to an ongoing groundswell of success stories by ordinary people trying it out and reporting getting astonishingly quick and effective results - but, more importantly for professionals, its growth and expansion is also due to some pretty impressive clinical research that is not widely published.

Tapping has been shown to be a remarkably effective intervention for dealing with emotional, psychological and even physical issues

It combines elements of traditional talk therapy with the critical somatic or body-based component of tapping on your skin

You think about, or talk about, whatever the problem is, while "tapping" with your fingers on specific places on your own face, upper body and hands...

What does the Research Support?

Research done in 10 countries, involving 60 researchers, resulting in publication in 20 peer-reviewed medical and psychology journals have demonstrated that EFT is effective for phobias, anxiety, depression, PTSD, pain and numerous other problems. One study, conducted by Harvard Researchers and published in the research journal "Human Brain Mapping" in 2000, found that when the acupoints were stimulated there was reduced arousal in the amygdala which plays a significant role in the body's stress response.
